How to BeThankful After Thanksgiving.

by Jessica Brookman in , ,

I made it my goal for the year to be more gracious. It has helped transform my life.

Here are few simple things you can be thankful for the day after Thanksgiving:

If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough.

  1. BE EXCITED THAT YOUR PANTS STILL FIT...FOR NOW.
But don't worry, by the time New Years rolls around, this probably won't be true! Then you can be thankful for gyms, yoga, hiking, surfing, walking in the woods....

  2. THERE ARE ONLY 33 DAYS UNTIL THE CHRISTMAS COMMERCIALS STOP. Hey Lexus, looking at you. It's a recession. Put the giant red bows away.

  3. YOU CAN SLEEP THROUGH BLACK FRIDAY.
Life is not full of days to sleep in. Be a non-self-loathing human being & stay home to cook breakfast with someone(s) that you love.

If there are no kids/relatives around, do it naked. Wee! See? That's way better.

  4. THE INTERNET IS A THING!
Um, this is a blog, which is short for weblog, which means you're reading it on the interwebs. Not only is the internet an exceptional source of entertainment -- thank you HBOGO, Netflix & YouTube -- but it's changing the way the world works.

Revolutions, disasters, and moments of monumental progress alike are being documented and augmented via this series of tubes. If you don't think that's amazing you're probably a fascist dictator.

  5. REMEMBER RIGHT NOW.
That's right, you jaded f*ck. Now is awesome.

It's easy to forget in the holiday season how little we actually need to be happy. As trivial as it sounds, you have this moment and this day, just say thank you.

There is always something to say thank you for. What are you celebrating this year?

 Love,
